Thoughts & Inspiration

Hey guys! I thought I’d quickly share a little reflection about this whole blogging thing. Sharing lengthy messages about thoughts and experiences on the internet is daunting. I never thought it was something I’d get into but I was given this platform for the trip and I’m excited to use it to connect with anyone who wants to keep up with what I’m doing. It seems so strange to me to be writing and posting without knowing who all is going to be reading it. Of course there’s my family and close friends (Hi grandma??), but I’m also writing to people I don’t know that well. It’s a little intimidating when I think about it. However, in Mathew Jesus tells his followers in his message to them on a mountain in Galilee “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lamp stand, and it gives light for all who are in th house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven” (Mathew 5:13-16). To me this has become a big source of encouragement for me to be open with people about what I’m doing. My intention for this blog is simply to be as genuine about everything as possible. I’m a very candid person whenever talking to someone and I’ll treat this the same way no matter who’s reading. I’m not going to worry about comma placement or run on sentences. I’m just going to try and be open to sharing what I’m thinking and going through. In these next couple months before I leave for the trip I will share little bits about how I’m preparing and what I’ve been doing this fall. I’m even more excited to share things on here when I’m on the trip. I’ll be posting about what I’ve been doing and ways God has been working. 1. I am so very excited about your upcoming adventure. I know how special you are and I believe in you. No matter who you meet on your journey, you will bring love and comfort to them — just as you have to me. My prayers are with you … always.

  2. Lindsey,
I am excited for your adventure sharing the love of Jesus around the world! Our friend’s daughter, who ran the race a couple of years ago, used the blog to post pictures and share her feelings about the people she met and the things God was doing in her. It was awesome to get to be a part of her adventure and we look forward to sharing in yours, too! I hope you will be able to be honest about what/who breaks you (in a good way!), who become your favorite people in each country and why, and what you hope for us to see the Father doing through you!
“For you will be His witness to every race of people and will share with them everything that you’ve seen and heard.” Acts 22:15
