People that have changed my life

It is so true that the company you keep has a big impact on you. For better or for worse. And the impact of the people that have surrounded me this past 6 months have blown me away.

This here is my squad! These are the people who I have traveled to Costa Rica and Panama with, along with some of our amazing leadership who fly out to be with us at debrief. Your looking at a whole lot of people who love the Lord like crazy and get excited for the opportunity to serve and love people. Out of this group of 30 or so, I have had two smaller teams. It’s these teams of 6 or 7 that I have lived with and done ministry with. Our bigger group splits up and then gets back together for debriefs where we rest and refuel before going to the next place we are staying.

I wanted to take some time to introduce the people who I have been beyond grateful to do life with these past 6 months.

This here is Keerstin. She also goes by KP or Kiki. She’s from Ohio. I connected with KP right away once we started talking. She has one of the biggest servant hearts I have ever seen in my life. She works at whatever we are doing with everything she’s got. She has taught me more about what it looks like to bring even the little things in life back to God.

Ella! A Georgia Gal. Ella is such a sweet person. She bring a whole lot of joy to our group. She brings a lot of enthusiasm about what God is doing or has done. A lot of the times its from a crazy view. She loves the earth a whole lot. You can tell she falls more in love with God the more of his creation she gets to see. She is also real good at guitar and singing. I am going to miss hearing her worship.

Devin! (Also Dev-dog). A Texas Gal. This woman is crazy beautiful inside and out. Devin is such an impactful person to have in your life. Seriously she is so special to me. I have a great deal of respect for who she is and the influence she carries. She‘s so dang funny and at the same time, wise and loving. She also has written some killer blogs if you wan to check them out. You can look to the left of my blog page and see my team. You can find her and a link to her blogs there.

Audrey! This woman has such an enthusiasm for things it’s contagious. She also will all the sudden share what shes been thinking and drop a crazy bit of wisdom that blows our minds. Also, she works crazy hard at any manual labor project that comes our way. I’ve got some mad respect for this woman and a whole lot of love.

This is Erika! From Mississippi. Erika is such a good friend. She’s a crazy good listener and you can tell that she seeks to really see people and love them well. I will miss how much she makes us laugh and her southern accent that always makes me smile.

This here is the one and only Lilly Flowers Renn. Another Georgia gal. Oh. My. Gosh. Lilly is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She always is seeing the best in people and loving them so dang well. She is real quick to smile and laugh. She is always making people feel seen and loved. Her hugs are absolutely amazing and she brings so much comfort and love to those around her.

This is Callie. Texas. I am blown away every day by how selfless this woman is. I actually have no idea how to express how much I love this woman. She’s got a crazy amount of patience and a huge heart for those around her. I couldn’t be more grateful for our friendship.

This is Hannah! From Alabama. Hannah has so much wisdom to give. I love listening to her share about what she has been studying. She really loves kids and Jesus. She is really dang cool and I love her a whole lot.

Here is Aneleise! She‘s from Buffalo. Buffalo New York. Home of the buffalo chicken wings. This woman, oh my gosh, she is so funny. It’s a gift. She brings so much joy to those around her. And QUALITY friendship. Her voice is also crazy beautiful. I am going to miss this woman more than I can say.

Here we have Michael! A Florida man. He was one of my team leaders for the first part of this trip. I am so grateful for him. His testimony left such an impact on me and he reminded me daily how cool it is to get to walk in authority and freedom because of what Jesus did for us. He was only here for the first part of our trip and I already miss him a lot.

This here is Steadman. One of the most impactful men I have ever met. His leadership and the example he set for those around him amazed me daily. He shows what it looks like to work to bring everything back to God and strive for humility. He‘s bold, with a strong voice. The conversations we had left such an impact on me.

I don’t feel like I can put how grateful I am for these people into words. I have not taken a single day with them for granted. I often think about how grateful I am for my friendships for them (I promise I am not normally this sappy about it, it just crosses my mind and it reminds me of God’s goodness).

Doing everything with these people has been so so cool but also challenging at times. This past 6 months I have gotten almost absolutely no time to myself. It makes sense when your traveling and doing everything with a group of people and its not wise to go out alone. I came on this trip thinking I was as extroverted as it gets only to realize that‘s not how it works. I do get energized by being around people I love. I’m constantly going out with friends or and spending time with people. I will always treasure quality time with people. But I have also come to treasure time by myself. Just me and God. Time to process life and bring it to the Lord. I hope I never take a solo car-ride or walk with Sadie (My dog who I miss a whole awful lot) for granted again. I have learned the value of making time for just me and God.

Now I realize this blog has been pretty sappy, but I believe sharing what you love about someone is incredibly valuable. Now, I want to be clear. ALL GLORY GOES TO GOD for these people. They all share one thing in common. They pursue a relationship with God like crazy. And he has made them the kind of friends that leave my head spinning just because I’m so grateful they have come into my life. That’s what God can do in someones life.
